The Caterpillar or the Spider
Excuse my need to be a storyteller here but I immediately narrated this scene I captured & had to share.
I was observing this sleepy fledgling chickadee in my maple tree when it began to yell out to its parents that it was hungry.
***Wide beak & cry = HUNGRY***
Dad immediately jumps down with a spider in his beak!!
Baby looks at Dad like NO, that’s not what I want. Dad even tries to force it into baby’s mouth.
We all know how this story ends - Mom pops in with a premium caterpillar
Mom & Baby have a sweet moment sharing their meal while Dad huffs away that no one appreciates him, his efforts, or his spider.
We see you Dad Chickadee.
You’re trying, but you’re just not quite Mom.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there - especially my mom who always knows what figurative caterpillar her kids want.
