Nature and Wildlife Photography - Raleigh, North Carolina
Happy Saturday all!
I wanted to share some beautiful nature photos I have taken recently in Raleigh, North Carolina.
First up is a Black-throated Blue Warbler. This migratory bird was seen along a greenway in Raleigh. Did you know April and May are wonderful opportunities to see many varieties of warblers as they migrate to their northern breeding season?
Next up is a baby Barred Owl
Barred Owls nest in broken and dead trees. If you have a dying or dead tree in your yard/property, consider leaving it if there are no safety concerns - you may get a nesting bluebird, woodpecker, or barred owl depending on the size!
The nestling’s mom was asleep in the setting sun near by.
There’s nothing better than finding a peacefully sleeping owl along a trail.
Have you ever seen a Green Heron?
I found this Green Heron at Bond Park in Cary, North Carolina while conducting my citizen science butterfly counts. I took this photo on my 70-200mm lens, but was still able to get a good zoom with little grain!
As the flowers begin to bloom, I encourage you to look and see what butterflies are visiting!
We are accustomed to the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (large & yellow) as well as Monarch Butterflies, but easier to overlook, a Pearl Crescent above is visiting a flowering Mountain Mint.
Below, a Gulf Fritilary nextars from Vervain.
If you are interested in purchasing any of my wildlife photography, please view my online gallery, here https://evergreenphotographync.shootproof.com/gallery/NaturePhotography
I also have prints, canvases, metal, and greeting cards available in studio!
Not ready to purchase anything? That’s okay, I would love to hear which photos are your favorite!
Have a wonderful week!
