On Location Shoot in December ?!

I had the most wonderful winter photo shoot at Annie Wilkerson Nature Preserve in Raleigh, North Carolina last week and lucked into a 72° day.

Winter is a time when simple backdrops become stunning portraits filled with warmth and joy. Winter light is less harsh and more diffused compared to other seasons.

My dog Crosby was the perfect model as I scouted the location before the shoot. I am probably a bit biased but I love how his merle coat looked against the golden backdrop.

You can clearly see how such a simple post really pops against the beautiful background.
